Connectria 2021 Year in Review Hybrid Cloud

It’s hard to believe that 2021 has already come and gone. Hybrid Cloud demand has really blossomed over the last year. More and more organizations are looking to move their workloads to the cloud to take advantage of the many available benefits. We leverage our diverse service portfolio from on-premises data center support, remote management, and hybrid/public cloud support to help customers get from where they are to where they want to be.

Throughout 2021, we continued supporting customers across a diverse and eclectic mix of industries. Disruption from the pandemic continued to impact our daily lives and also continued to impact businesses large and small. While some things still remain uncertain, Connectria remains eager and able to provide reliable support for traditional workloads, cloud migration projects, cloud managed services, and much more.

25 Years Strong

Connectria proudly celebrated our 25th anniversary in September. Founded as a software development and infrastructure consulting firm in 1996, Connectria entered the Enterprise Hosting Market in 1998. We quickly expanded to over 100 customers by 2002, and over 500 customers by 2007. Connectria advanced our commitment to compliance in 2012 and then launched our managed Amazon Web Services (AWS) solution in 2013, achieving AWS Advanced Consulting Partner status less than a year later.

Through the addition of WSM International in 2019, Connectria has become a leader in cloud migration management as well as providing digital transformation and professional services for organizations of all sizes. Today, Connectria proudly serves over 1,000 customers across 35 countries.

“An incredible milestone for the team at Connectria. A story of continued growth driven by the commitment of our founder Richard Waidmann, our past and present employees, and our shareholders. At the end of the day, it is our customers’ desired outcomes that gives us the thirst to keep doing better, and better… and better!”Amar K. Patel, Connectria President & CEO

Connectria continues to grow and evolve, recognizing opportunities in expanding markets and investing in new technology. We help businesses realize their cloud vision with end-to-end hosting and managed services, from traditional enterprise technology to public and private cloud environments. We are also the largest IBM i (AS/400) cloud provider in North America and a recognized IBM business partner with demonstrated excellence driving business growth.

Hybrid Cloud

This was a big year for our hybrid architecture which provides a simplified path forward for IBM Power Systems with AWS. Connectria’s IBM with AWS hybrid cloud offering enables Power Systems users to leverage existing IBM Power Systems investments with the hyperscale cloud benefits of AWS.

Essentially, Connectria provides the undifferentiated heavy lifting of IT enabling customers to focus more on innovation and less on infrastructure. Connectria assumes full responsibility for the operational health of your IBM Power System environment. This offering starts with an assessment of the current environment after which Connectria then plans for and executes the migration of the existing IBM i/AIX environment, as-is, to our modern IBM Power Systems environment, while the connected/dependent x86 workloads are migrated to AWS.

Connectria managed services tie all of the loose ends from IBM i, IBM AIX, storage, networking, data protection, and security together within our enterprise data centers. Our network operations center (NOC) and security operations center (SOC) keep a watchful eye on your environments and alert your team, as necessary, to any detected issues. Interest around our hybrid solution has been high and we’re currently onboarding many customers, with case studies and use case analyses to come in 2022.

Customer Success

With Connectria leading hybrid initiatives for IBM modernization, the focus on a customer’s full infrastructure journey became a primary focal point. Therefore, the Customer Success Management (CSM) team grew to be a cornerstone of our customer interactions, retention, and satisfaction.

Connectria doubled down on our investment in the office of the customer with the promotion of Karen Hockenberry. With the CSM team built as a strong foundation, the new Customer Success Organization now focuses purely on keeping our customers happy and growing. Our Account Directors work collaboratively with the existing CSM team to fully manage our clients’ success and lifecycle.

We recognize that organizations that value our service are moving to different solutions, so we invest in more of these solutions so that our customers stay with Connectria and continue to grow as we continue to grow. We don’t just want to gain new customers; we want to serve customers so well that we keep them for life.

Partnerships

2021 was a great year for Connectria and an even better year for our partners. Channel Partners quickly became the backbone of Connectria’s growth roadmap. We partner with companies that can provide joint value propositions to our end-users.  It’s all about extending the lifetime value of our business model.  We nurture this by ensuring our Partners are truly part of our ecosystem. We do this by limiting the number of partners we have and are careful to avoid too many partners with similar areas of focus.

We engage our partners with both our current customers and active prospects. We make sure our partners are fairly rewarded, with options for either our Referral Program or Reseller Program. We also provide joint marketing offerings including press releases, webinar opportunities, and co-branded collateral for our partners to further ensure mutual success.

Software-Enabled Services, powered by TRiA

Throughout 2021, Connectria continued to enhance its offerings to support customers in their digital transformation efforts. Among the many improvements made this year were additional upgrades to our multi-cloud management platform, TRiA.

Featuring real-time observability, Connectria allows you to see all your resources regardless of whether they’re deployed on enterprise platforms such as IBM AIX, IBM i, or VMware; in modern cloud environments; or in a hybrid cloud scenario. TRiA solves the most commonly encountered challenges with modern application architectures including resource management, performance, compliance, security, and spend optimization.

TRiA provides centralized resource imagery across your IBM AIX, IBM i, VMware, and public cloud environments. This means TRiA provides everything you need to understand which resources your workloads are running on, how much capacity is available, what you need when planning for future growth, and where you can optimize in the meantime.

TRiA also helps you keep an eye on performance alerts, potential anomalies, and continuously helps you assess your performance posture. It even utilizes machine learning to proactively warn you about unusual performance behavior by issuing alerts, to both our experts and your teams, when necessary.
