GDPR's Impact on US-Based Companies

Globally, Companies Remain Unprepared for GDPR

A little over a year ago on May 25, 2018, the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation, better known as GDPR, went into effect. This regulation required organizations transacting with customers inside the EU to protect the personal data and privacy of EU citizens, including giving them some control over what kinds of personal data was accessed and how it was used. The first GDPR fines come as a wake-up call for organizations inside the EU – and in the US.
