No Jerks Allowed Company: Why Happy Employees Equals Happy Customers

The success of a company depends on the success of its employees in areas of customer service, sales, marketing, building relationships, and so much more. That being said, it’s easy to see how employees’ attitudes and experiences can affect customer relationships and, ultimately, the bottom line.  In fact, studies show that companies that mindfully invest in their employees and their experiences typically see a large return on investment.

Companies with positive work environments and those who value their employees tend to have higher attendance, a lower turnover rate, more productivity, and more skilled employees. Therefore, it appears that happiness inspires productivity and engagement. Employee happiness helps the customer because the more engaged and informed employees are, the more efficiently they are able to serve customers. Part of a great customer experience is building a relationship in which everyone feels comfortable and respected.

There are several things to measure to determine if your workplace culture is a positive one. Alignment, execution, and connection are three of many factors that go into building a great work environment. Good employee alignment is essential to helping employees stay productive and focused. Employers should make sure everyone is on the same page, everyone understands the big picture and their role within it, and encourage transparency throughout the entire company. Successful execution in a company is also important. Clear goals and a means of measuring progress toward these goals is required. Finally, employee connection, a basic human need, is key to increased engagement and connecting with the organization and customers.

As a Jerk Free Company, Connectria prides itself in its unique culture where every employee goes the extra mile for our customers and values honesty, sincerity and integrity. Receiving awards like the St. Louis Post Dispatch’s 2016 Top Workplaces and Computerworld’s Best Places to Work in IT, not only shows that Connectria is a happy place to work, but it’s also a representation of our commitment to providing exceptional services to our customers.

Happy employees who are engaged with their company and who work in a positive environment make it easier to do business on both ends. Our employees at Connectria are polite and considerate to not only each other, but to customers and partners as well. If our customers are not happy, we are not happy; and vice versa. This is a call for more companies to realize the benefits that come from happier employees and how customer satisfaction is linked to employee engagement!
