A University In New York Chooses Connectria for IBM i Hosting and Windows Hosting
St. Louis, MO (February 3, 2014) - There are many managed hosting providers out there that are boasting cheap prices and touting all kinds of guarantees. Unfortunately, these companies are short-lived and usually don’t deliver on their promises. A New York based University, one of Connectria’s newest customers, experienced this first hand before choosing Connectria.
This particular University services over 19,000 students from around the world via their 32 schools and online classes. While the University was in the process of moving facilities, and wanting a world-class hosting data center for their production systems, they became interested in Connectria. After touring Connectria’s St. Louis data centers, their CIO was sold. Connectria’s 24/7 staff would be monitoring the environment day and night, 7 days a week, and during all holidays. Also, the fully redundant facility meant no more worries about power outages or emergencies.
The University selected Connectria to provide hosting and support of their production IBM iSeries and Windows virtual machine infrastructure. Connectria was able to provide a dedicated team of experienced engineers for their IBM i Hosting, and the Windows Hosting environment was put on a Tegile storage array. This configuration was able to give them a much better, faster, and cheaper storage array than any other vendor was offering. A solid state disc and 10 gig of communication between the server and storage made the system lightning fast and offered a significant upgrade over the current setup.
