Connectria Opens World-Class Hosting Center With Deutsche Financial Services As First Customer
ST. LOUIS, MO (December 8, 1998) - Deutsche Financial Services (DFS), a division of Deutsche Bank AG, has
selected Connectria to design and host a sophisticated
Disaster Recovery solution for its distributed computing environment
using Connectria's newly opened world-class
hosting center in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Connectria will provide DFS a fully
redundant replicated server environment consisting of approximately twenty
IBM AIX servers and
Microsoft Windows based
servers that will enable DFS to be operational within 2 hours in the event of a disaster at their corporate headquarters in
Town & Country, Missouri. DFS will leverage Connectria's advanced data center infrastructure, as well as its expertise in
cost-effective IT Disaster Recovery environments.
Connectria's St. Louis data center was previously a US Government owned data center facility, which housed critical IT
operations and data centers for the Army Logistics Command, GSA and the IRS among other government organizations.
The building has since been privatized and converted into a "carrier hotel" to house data center operations of numerous
telecommunications carriers and IT service providers. The building has redundant fiber coming into opposite sides of the
building, three separate power feeds on three separate power grids, and generator backup for the entire building.
Since it was built, the building has never lost power.
Connectria's data center is protected by multiple layers of security including electronic building and facility access secured by magnetic locks, 24x7 security, monitored and recorded closed circuit television, person traps and mandatory identity logging of all outside visitors. Prior to being able to provide services to DFS, Connectria's data center passed a Level 2 Security Audit performed by the United States Federal Reserve.
